Holidays Make You Put On Weight

Yes, it is true. The number of days you go on a holiday, you put on that many pounds. Hard to digest, but that's almost true. Recently I vacationed on a Hawaiian island with a bunch of my friends. The place as you all know is heaven. The food was so yummy that I managed to munch every few minutes. We spent the holiday in a lazy manner, sleeping late nights, gulping alcohol, and gorging on the desserts that were served after every meal. I did nothing really, apart from eating.

I returned after a good eight days, and out of concern checked my weight. And lo, along with the fun and games, I added on extra pounds as well. I was already looking heavy, and now I managed to look flabby. I had a wedding to attend in the next month and was really looking forward to losing weight, or at least get rid of few ponds. As always, I started looking out for ways to lose weight when I came across a site on the internet. The site had some information on how to lose weight, and as I like experimenting, I checked their tips.

You know what was the first tip? Drink lots of water. Like you, even I wondered how water could help me reduce weight. Then I read further and realized that if you drink plenty of water before your meals you tend to eat less and eventually lose weight, but be prepared to visit the loo quite often. The next one was control your temptation. If controlling ones temptation was so easy we would have never heard about obesity. It further said that you need to control your mind. Remember where there is a will there is a way, well, it plays an important role. If your mind keeps on reminding you about the number of calories you will put on, you may control your temptation.

The other tip was to set a goal to lose four to five pounds in a week. This was difficult for me, had never set goals in my life, but as they say, being determined makes a difference. The next one was go slow on alcohol but that's true, a beer is known to grow bellies. One of the funny tips that I found out was that I needed to note down everything I ate, the number of calories for every item. It also recommended that you stay away from sodas, it's high on calories.

It also suggested having a high protein diet, (NO.... proteins don't make you put on weight). Proteins are a good way of keeping your body healthy and fat free. You can replace chocolates with protein candy, replace chicken with fish, and so on. Remain stress free. Surprising, but stress is a catalyst to get you all out of shape. It's actually not the stress but the food and the number of beer cans that are responsible. The last one was relax, and exercise. After reading all this I found its very difficult to stick to it but I surely wanted to give a try.
